There's so many things I need to say. I needed to vent.

Before I can do any, I just felt a sudden peacefulness in me. Just as I wanted to vent. Really, within minutes, everything was calm.

God is at work, telling me that He is in control.

Minutes ago my emotions were running haywire, trying my best to remain sane and not sin for the Bible did mention that

"in your anger, do not sin"

Although I'm not particularly angry, more of disappointment, frustration, helplessness, sianzation, still, the feeling of peace overcomes whatever I was feeling just minutes ago.

And chatting with Audrey on MSN helps lighten my mood.

Then again, another bombshell dropped.

This issue involves me and I dunno what the heck is going on, no one is here to help enlighten me. Can you ever imagine how that feels? If it concerns me as well, spit it in my face. I can take it. What I can't take is you telling me that this issue involves me partly and I dunno what I said / do and I don't have any chance to explain my actions without you telling me what is going on.

Now I'm all flustered again. Pardon this entry for being so nonsensical.

I'm just writing what's inside my brain.

And nothing in my brain is coherent at the moment.

I was randomly messaging people just the other day,

"Leave me alone."

Let my issues stay my issues.

I never thought I would "fall".

I know what I did say.

I know my actions.

I am accountable for them.

But what exactly did I say to stumble others?

Sometimes I say things that to me, is nothing much.

Yet, some others may view it as blasphemy.

You don't tell me, I will never know.

I will never even get the chance to apologize.

You will go on having this thought that "Tiff is like that. I didn't know."

Yet, how much of it is true.

Jonathan did share with me that unless you hear / see it from the subject itself, you can never be certain of its accuracy.

Never has this been more apt.

Brings back memories of the olden days, after being mistaken for so many things that I wasn't.

How fearful I am to have history repeating itself.

Yet, shoot me.

Or what?

Am I jumping to conclusions?

I am entitled. I have no idea whatsoever of what is going on.

God, calm me again.

It's like seeing your best friend crying at a corner and when you asked "what happened?", she replied "nothing ah."

With further probing, you realised that you are to blame partly for what is happening to her but yet know nothing of it.

NOTHING!

Ignorance is bliss?

Nope.

Ignorance is insomnia.

Before I go to bed, definitely, a long prayer to our Dad.

What is the purpose of this stupid thing happening that involves me which I know not of?

QUARTER-LIFE CRISIS

It is when you stop going along with the crowd. Start realising that there are many things about yourself that you didn't know and may not like.

You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but you then get scared because you barely know where you are now.

You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren't exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don't recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren't really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.

You look at your job... and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.

Your opinions have gotten stronger.

You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn't.

One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure.

You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life.

You feel alone and scared and confused.

Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.

You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can't meet a guy decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you are doing this because you know that you aren't a bad person.

One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap.

Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic.

You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision.

You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself... and while winning the race would be great, right now you'd just like to be a contender!

What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it.

We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human enough;

hope to make you happy.

Last Sunday, Pastor Song shared about sharing the gospel and the route in leading others to Christ.

I felt that it is important to share the steps here so that many people will know how to lead others to Christ.

1. Ask from the Father (John 15:16)

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name."

2. Be a witness (Acts 1:8)

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

3. Sharing God's Word - Roman's Road

[If they believe in all these, they will be saved]

Sins: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Love of God: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners; Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Eternal Life: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6: 23)

Salvation: "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10: 9-10, 13)

THE DOG AND THE ANGRY MAN

"Watch out! You nearly broad-sided that car!" My father yelled at me.

"Can't you do anything right?" Those words hurt more than blows. I turned my head towards the elderly man in the seat beside me, daring me to challenge him. A lump rose in my throat as I averted my eyes. I wasn't prepared for another battle.

"I saw the car, Dad. Please don't yell at me when I'm driving." My voice was measured and steady, sounding far calmer than I really felt. Dad glared at me, then turned away, and settled back.

At home, I left Dad in front of the television and went outside to collect my thoughts. Dark heavy clouds hung in the air with the promise of rain. The rumble distant thunder seemed to echo my inner turmoil. What could I do about him?

Dad had been a lumberjack in Washington and Oregon. He had enjoyed being outdoors and reveled in pitting his strength with the forces of nature.

The years marched on relentlessly. The first time he couldn't lift a heavy log, he joked about it; but later that day, I saw him outside alone, trying hard to lift the log. He became irritable whenever anyone teased him about his advancing age.

Four days after his sixty-seventh birthday, he had a heart attack. An ambulance sped him to the hospital while a paramedic administered CPR.

At the hospital, Dad was rushed into the operating room. He was lucky; he survived.

But something inside Dad died. His zest for life was gone. He obstinately refused to follow doctor's orders and suggestions and offers of help were turned aside with sarcasm and insults. The number of visitors thinned and stopped altogether. Dad was left alone.

My husband, Rick, and I asked Dad to move in with us on our small farm. We hoped the fresh air and rustic atmosphere would help him adjust.

Within a week after he moved in, we regretted the invitation. It seemed nothing was satisfactory. He criticized everything I did and I became frustrated and moody. Soon, I was taking my pent-up anger on Rick. We began to bicker and argue.

Alarmed, Rick sought out our pastor and explained the situation. The clergyman set up weekly counseling appointments for us. At the close of each session, we prayed, asking God to sooth Dad's troubled mind. But the months wore on and God was silent.

A raindrop struck my cheek. I looked up into the gray sky. Somewhere up there, was "God". Although I believe a Supreme Being had created the universe, I had difficulty believing that God cared for the tiny human beings on this earth.

I was tired of waiting for a God who did not answer.

Something had to be done and it was up to me to do it. The next day, I sat down with the phone book and methodically called each of the mental health clinics listed in the Yellow Pages. I explained my problem in vain to each of the sympathetic voices that answered.

Just when I was about to give up hope, one of the voices suddenly exclaimed, "I just read something that might help you! Let me go get the article."

I listened as she read. The article described a remarkable study done at a nursing home. All of the patients were under treatment for chronic depression. Yet, their attitudes improved dramatically when they were given responsibility for a dog.

I drove to the animal shelter that afternoon and filled out a form when a uniformed officer led me to the kennels. The odor of disinfectant stung my nostrils as I moved down the row of pens. Each containing 5-7 dogs. Long-haired, short-haired, curly-haired, black dogs, spotted dogs - all jumped up, trying to reach me. I studied each one but rejected one after the other for various reasons.

As I approached the last pen, a dog in the shadows of the far corner struggled to his feet, walked to the front of the run and sat down.

It was a pointer, one of the dog world's aristocrats. But this was a caricature of the breed. Years had etched his face and muzzle with shades of gray. His hipbones jutted out in lopsided triangles. But it was his eyes that held and caught my attention. Calm and clear, they held me unwaveringly.

I pointed to the dog. "Can you tell me more about him?" The officer looked and then shook his head in puzzlement.

"He's a funny one - appeared out of nowhere and sat in front of the gate. We brought him in, figuring someone would be right down to claim him. That was 2 weeks ago and we've heard nothing. His time is up tomorrow." He gestured helplessly.

As the words sank in I turned to the man in horror. "You mean you are going to kill him?"

"Ma'am," he said gently, "that's our policy. We don't have room for every unclaimed dog."

I looked at the pointer again.

The calm brown eyes awaited my decision.

"I'll take him," I said.

I drove home with the dog on the front seat beside me. When I reached home, I honked the horn twice. I was helping my prize out of the car when Dad shuffled onto the front porch.

"Ta-da! Look what I got for you dad!" I said excitedly.

Dad looked, then wrinkled his face in disgust. "If I had wanted a dog, I would have gotten one. And I would have picked out a better specimen than that bag of bones. Keep it! I don't want it." Dad waved his arm scornfully and trudged back into the house.

Anger rose inside me. It squeezed together my throat muscles and pounded into my temples. "You'd better get used to him Dad. He's staying!"

Dad ignored me.

"Did you hear me Dad?" I screamed.

At those words, Dad whirled angrily, his hands clenched at his sides, his eyes narrowed and blazing with hate. We stood glaring at each other like duelist , when suddenly the pointer pulled free from my grasp. He wobbled towards Dad and sat down in front of him. The slowly, carefully, he raised his paw. Dad's lower jaw trembled as he stared at the uplifted paw. Confusion replaced anger in his eyes. The pointer waited patiently. Then dad was on his knees hugging the animal.

It was the beginning of a warm and intimate friendship.

Dad named the pointer Cheyenne. Together, he and Cheyenne explored the community. They spend long hours walking down dusty lanes. They spent reflective moments on the bank of streams, angling for tasty trouts. They even started to attend Sunday services together.

Dad and Cheyenne remained inseparable for the next 3 years. Dad's bitterness fade and Cheyenne made many new friends.

Then late one night, I was startled to feel Cheyenne's cold nose burrowing through our bed covers. He had never before come into our bedroom at night.

I woke Rick, put on my robe and ran into my father's room. Dad lay in his bed, his face serene; but his spirit had left quietly sometime during the night.

2 days later, my shock and grief deepened when I discovered Cheyenne lying dead beside Dad's bed. I wrapped his still form in the rag rug he had slept on. As Rick and I buried him near a favourite fishing hole, I silently thank the dog for the help he had given to restore Dad's peace of mind.

The morning of Dad's funeral dawned overcast and dreary. This day looks like the way I feel, I thought, as I walked down the aisle to the pews reserved for family. I was surprised to see the many friends Dad and Cheyenne had made filling the church.

The pastor began his eulogy. It was a tribute to both Dad and the dog that had changed his life. And then the pastor turned to Hebrews 13: 2 "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers..."

"I've often thanked God for sending that angel," he said.

For me, the past dropped into place, completing a puzzle I have not seen before: The sympathetic voice that read me the article ~ Cheyenne's unexpected appearance at the animal shelter ~His calm acceptance and complete devotion to my father ~ and the proximity of their deaths.

And suddenly, I understood.

I knew that God had answered my prayers after all.

The more I share about my dream, the more I get excited about it!

I realised that I have a soft spot for animals at a very young age. I love furry small huggable creatures! At that point of time, the only possible dream job for me is to be a vet. Veterinarian. I held on to that dream until 16. During then, the only possible way to go is overseas to London or Australia to get a degree in vet studies. But at 16, I was still a chick, unable to take the challenge to spread my wings and fly. Until now, although I still love animals, the dream of being a vet is starting to diminish...... *Fades away*

During mid course of my growing up, I had another goal. I won't really classify it as a goal, but more of like, what I want to be when I grow up. A TAI TAI! Hahahahahahaahahah! It is actually rather common that many of us girls go through this phase whereby we would want a man who is financially stable and will support our shoppings, living comfortably, have 10 dogs...

But as I get to know Christ more through the learnings of MasterLife and church and other testimonies and my own experiences with Christ, and of course a few TV programs and perhaps the few happenings in my own personal life, I realised a new dream!

As this week MasterLife teaches us how to use our different body parts for God's use, I realised that many of us have talents that we are unable to fully develop due to the demands of the society and culture. For me, I don't really have a particular job that I would desire for. In fact, with the appropriate means, I would like to go on missions and be like biao ge/Spongebob/Joseph.

I always liked to travel the world. This time, if I travel, I want to do God's work too.
I always liked to do things with my hands. This time, if I do, I want to be able to bless people with my works. I like art, cooking, sewing, playing the piano, eh, I sound like someone out from the 80s! So old-fashioned! HA!

So this time around, I plan to take a course on fashion design. Many a times we see designs in a magazine that is drop-dead gorgeous and yet the price tag alone will follow suit. I had already planned to work and take a part time course in design and fashion so whenever you guys see something you like in a magazine, you can always come to me! I think it is a wonderful dream/goal because I am able to do what I really like and also to bless those around me as well. At the same time, I'm more interested to "be my own boss" and start a small business chain perhaps selling my articles of clothing which will be unique as I don't do mass production (I'm not a machine). Somehow or other, taking a business degree is very apt.

At the same time, before coming for cell today, I was watching a documentary on animal planet and I saw many of the children in Southern Indonesia without any clothes on! Those with some raggedy pants are the "richer" ones and even so, perforated with holes holes and more holes. My first thought was, (read with passion) "If I can sew, I will bring my machine there and make sure every single one of them is clothed." Not that I want to show off that I am SO KIND, but I realised that this became my passion as it was at first thought that occurred to me. I also saw pictures in Cambodia when the team went for their mission trip. Heart-wrenching.

It is amazing how we dispose of old clothes not because it had worn-out but it is "out of season". I admit I am guilty of this too. And AND I really try to change. So if you keep seeing me with the same clothes over and over again please refrain from asking me whether I am broke or anything and the likes. Yet, people, CHILDREN, in such places placed such high value on perforated pants. I can't help but to feel that I need to do something for them. I personally don't believe in cash donations because I don't really trust organizers who claimed that the funds received will definitely go to the children. I want to do it by myself.

A random quote came to my mind: "A lot of people are willing to give God credit, but so few ever give him cash."

Ultimately, this is a goal that I still can aspire for, although being a dressmaker is very degrading to some. But if we lived for ourselves, we will be missing the point of our very existence. Live for God. Let Him work in you. To find your purpose.

The happiest thing that happened to me today:

I RECEIVED A POST CARD FROM SPONGEBOB!!!!

Although he had written it before he left for Kazakhstan, I'm still very glad to receive it!

Well, he did mention about reading this blog even when he's overseas. :)

You are a precious brother to me for I see your faith in God is ever-increasing. Your joy and smile have brought great encouragement to the group. Your love for God has spurred others to know Him more. You are a treasure and you bless others simply by your presence. May God continue to use you to impact others for Him.

Ok. Here's the real one (if you are reading):

Joseph, despite hearing many stories about you (how they like to pull down your pants.. etc.) I admire you for the many qualities you have. The tolerance to put up with it, the ability to be slow to anger, to be able to laugh at yourself, to walk in God's way and to have the courage to be where you are now, alone.

Despite all these things, know that everyone in Tsidkenu I and II (multiplication?) loves you and yearns for your speedy return.

Let God work in you and you will be reward abundantly in His love.

Come back with the many miracles and stories and experiences you have gained. We will all be anxiously waiting.

It was my deep regret that I was unable to send you on your flight. But I will be there to welcome you home.

Grow in God's mercy and grace and be blessed by His love!

As today is Easter Sunday, service was a little different.

Aaron did a wonderful rendition of Via Dolorosa and it brought tears to my eyes.

Sometime back in 2005, my uncle (boh deh) gave me a wonderful presentation on Via Dolorosa and I keep watching it again and again without fail.

After the passing of such a wonderful uncle (thanks to all who attended the wake), I still kept the mail.

The whole presentation used to be screened for free and the combination of graphics and soulful voices will definitely bring tears to the hardest of all men.

I was dashed to see them charging for it now, and only a one-minute presentation was available.

No doubt, this is a very beautiful and and and.. (loss for words)

Come to think of it, my two dearest uncle left this world in their mid 50s and they left something behind - something that will bless the people of this land.

Uncle Mike left a lot of christian books for me.

Boh Deh left a lot of inspiring e-mails for me which I had been sharing in this blog since Day 1.

All these are sparks that ignite my passion for Christ and though they are gone, their works will remain and will continue as long as I live.

A dedication to my wonderful Grandma:

She strongly loved and devoted to her Lord

She escaped death once, through the blessing of God
Something of which I never forgot.

Grandma's love keeps me alive
Like how God's love keeps me revived.
Just like today, when I forgot to eat,
I went to her house and it's me she feeds.

"Your stomach will spoil!" Grandma will boil
But she prepares my favourite- fish egg in aluminum foil
I always wonder, what I will do
When her time comes, I really will 哭

Thank you Grandma, for all that you've done
For being my support, whenever I say 'I can't'

We proclaim that Singapore belongs to the Lord on this day whereby churches from all over Singapore (North, East, South, West) marched together in unity to gather in the center, which is also the foot of the cross. The direction in which believers were walking marked the sign of a cross on the whole island of Singapore.

The Lord sees and is pleased.

The heartfelt songs bring tears to many.

The dancers danced with exuberance.

The prayers, oh so sweet and pleasing.

The trumpets were singing their sweet tune.

The musicians were drunk in the spirit.

The people worship in one accord.

Joy is the flag flown high.

The Lord sees and is pleased.

Phase #1 of the walk: From the 4 corners

The meeting at the foot of the cross (Church of Singapore - Bukit Timah)

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross!

Phase #2 of the walk: To the summit

The enthronement of the Lord Jesus at the highest place in Singapore - Bukit Timah Hill

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place (Bukit Timah) and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee (in Singapore) should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue (in Singapore) confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

THAT ALL SINGAPORE MIGHT COME TO KNOW HIM AND THAT ALL SINGAPORE MIGHT MAKE HIM KNOWN TO THE NATIONS NEAR (ASIA) AND FAR (ISRAEL). AMEN!

In retrospect, this had been a walk of

OBEDIENCE

Genesis 13:14-15,17

"Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south and east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."

HUMILITY

We need to acknowledge that what's happening today and what is about to happen hereafter is simply the result of the grace that is being extended to us from the Father in heaven, and the combined acts of obedience by "saints and servants" of God across time and place in Singapore. No one person or one group can take the credit of the glory. All credit and all glory must go to HIM an HIM alone!

FAITH

We need to rise to that level of faith where we who once had the faith to see "mega-churches" birthed in Singapore, will now have our faith extended and expanded to believe God for the "transformation of our city", when Singapore shall become a "Shalom City" - a city which has foundations, and whose architect and builder is God." (Hebrews 11:10)

Though being 6-7 hours long (12mn to 6-7am), God gave me relief. Relief from my burdens and stress. Relief from the tension and my worries. In Him, my strength is renewed. To explain why I didn't sit down much: As I stand, the presence of the Lord increases. You can feel Him. You can see His light. You will feel refreshed. God gave me the strength to stand in His name although physically, it is impossible for me to stand that long. His miracles. God can do the impossible! For nothing is impossible with God! With that, I received a gift from Him. The confirmation of the gift of tongues.
